XP Service Pack 3 Set-Up X Access Denied.

While YOU downloading Service Pack 3 got this message:

Service Pack 3 Set-Up X Access Denied.

The problem may be with the xp registry on your computer. I found the following fix that worked:

1. Make a backup of your registry.
2. Download and install subinacl.exe.
3. Create a file called reset.cmd with Notepad. Copy the text below into the file reset.cmd and run reset.cmd with administrative rights (it may take a LONG time):

cd /d "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Resource Kits\Tools"
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subdirectories %windir%*.* /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose

subinacl.exe can be downloaded from microsoft.

OpenNet to start installing fibre optic cables in homes, offices

Fibre optic cables for Singapore's new, ultra high-speed broadband network, which will be completed by 2012, will be installed into homes and offices from September.

The company contracted to do the installation, OpenNet, will start sending out letters to homeowners from July.

Residents have three weeks to respond and installation is free.

Those who want it installed at a later date will have to pay S$220 for apartments and S$450 for landed properties.

OpenNet says it expects to invest over S$100 million in total to complete the project, on top of the S$750 million funding from the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA).

FAQ for Residential Premises : http://www.opennet.com.sg/faq/for-residential-premises-hdbprivate/
Typical installation within the home
What will the set up and installation entail within the premise?
What are the charges that I have to bear for the installation of the optical fibre point into my home?
-----
Will one fibre point be enough since I have home networking with multiple users at home (e.g. myself, my wife & 2 kids)? Does it support home networking?
Currently, the maximum broadband speeds offered are up to 100Mbps. Broadband through fibre will be able to provide speeds of 1Gbps and above, which are at least 10 times more than the current market offerings. These speeds can be delivered using only one optical fibre point.
OpenNet will connect one fibre point to every household. Additional fibre points can be requested through your Retail Service Providers (RSPs), if necessary.
Once the optical fibre point is established within the Home, your Retail Service Provider will work with you to establish a home network to link all your computers.
-----
How do I sign up for optical fibre?
How do I know if optical fibre is available where I live?
What if I do not agree to have it installed at this time?
Previously I was offered the fibre installation via the initial Letter of Offer but I refused to sign up. Can I still sign up now?
Do I need to get approval from the landlord to install the point in my rented home?
What can optical fibre do for me?
Can this point be used to watch pay TV as well?
After installing this point, does it mean I can enjoy high speed broadband without subscribing to SingNet/StarHub/PacNet anymore?
What is the maximum download speed of optic fibre?
I already have a Fibre connection at home. Can I sign up for additional fibre connection at the same address? How do I go about doing this?

Have a good Laff !

A few days ago, Prime Minister Mori was given some Basic English conversation training before he visits Washington and meets president Barack Obama...

The instructor told Mori Prime Minister, when you shake hand with President Obama, please say 'how r u'.
Then Mr. Obama should say, 'I am fine, and you?' Now, you should say 'me too'. Afterwards we, translators, will do the work for you.'

It looks quite simple, but the truth is...

When Mori met Obama , he mistakenly said 'who r u?' (Instead of 'How r u?'.)

Mr. Obama was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor:
'Well, I'm Michelle's husband, ha-ha...'

Then Mori replied 'me too, ha-ha.. .'.

Then there was a long silence in the meeting room.

LiFe in SiNgApOre ...

In Singapore , the majority of us live in
Highly Dangerous

Not only do you have to pay, you
Pay Until

If that's not enough, somebody still
Purposely Wants to

So what more can you do when you are in the

With the current Mad

Pay the Sum Ahead (PSA),Which will leave some people
Permanently Owing Some

And forced to live on the Loan Techniques

You might be able to use your

If you are out of luck, you may meet doctors who
Never Use

and you will be Sure to Give up

To help ease the traffic, motorists have to pay

If that doesn't help, they can always Eternally
Raise Prices (ERP)on the roads.

If you don't own a car, you can always make

Lastly, under all these pressures, there are not many
