Leaving Singapore with a clear conscience !
Singapore Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew recently , mentioned that Singaporean could never leave Singapore with a clear conscience . !
Here is an interesting response from ST forum reader dated May 3 2007 been blog here for your comments !
I WOULD like to voice my opinion on the comment by Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew that he could never leave Singapore with a clear conscience .
I have mostly been studying or working out of Singapore since 2000, in Australia , in the US and India .I am currently residing in Melbourne, Australia .
Growing up in Singapore was always good. However,as an informed adult wanting the best for my family,my wife and I left Singapore. We still believe Singapore is a great pace to live for a lot of people, and for a variety of reasons. However, it would not work for us .
We have had friends envy our life in Melbourne - Land ownership, a three-bedroom house with a backyard, a fantastic salary package, living in a vibrant city that is always alive with great outdoors, world-class sport, theatre, musicals, concerts, etc.
However , these are not the critical pull factors that drew us to Melbourne. The real reason starts and ends with the personal time, family time and work-life balance. We wanted to live in a community where personal time is sacred, and where companies do not "own" you. Work is strictly 9 to 5 , except for the odd occasion when you work longer. Even then, bosses do not make demands -they request your time.
In Melbourne, taxes are high, interest rates are soaring, the health-care systems may not be at its best, medial insurance is expensive and the public transportation is hardly world class but we have to cope with these "deficiencies"
On the flipside, we have time to enjoy a rich family life. Our kids, when we have them, will have ample opportunities to choose the path they would like in life, be it sport, music, theatre or pure academics. They will not be branded under the academic microscope.
The bottom line is that we left with a clear conscience ,and we remain here with a clear conscience ."

Here my Opinion on Conscience ??
Singaporean as usual been the minorities in Australia , America or UK.. Today we cant trust the "ANGMOH justice" system anymore because in some way or another Asians are always getting the "leftover" . Ever if you are a permanent residence or citizen remember you are still a 3rd world citizen of that country . Majority rules the country . But not in Singapore , Singaporean will always be treated as 1st class citizen here . While residing in Australia for past 6 years often I received this remark "Don't like it - find a better country to live in" or "go back to Singapore " The world's big - there are plenty of options! WTF

Do you remember this ?? ASingapore court sentenced 24-year-old Melbourne man Nguyen Tuong Van to death for in possession of 400g of heroin in March 2005. This new got "NOTHING" to do with my son(while studying in Melbourne) yet he received his fair share of criticism which upset him a great deal till to-date and for that he told us he wanted to go back to Singapore as soon as the school term ends. Am saddened by this event that we Singaporean here branded as "murderer" but people in Australia must understand that the laws of Singapore are well known so why picked on my son ??
