Singapore Population

In 2009:

Singapore total population: 5 million
Singapore residents: 3.7 million. (Sg residents includes PR and Citizens)
Singapore citizens: 3.17 million (Out of 3.7 million, 0.53 million are PRs who are not Sg citizens)

That means currently only 63% of people in Singapore are local citizens.

However, this figure does not include transient tourists to Singapore. Currently, around 1 million tourists visit Singapore every month. So basically, at any time in Singapore, we have around 6 million people total, of which 3.17 million are citizens.

That means that at any one time, only 52.3% of people in Singapore are Singapore citizens. Which means if you walk on the streets, around 1 out of every 2 person is a foreigner.
