MY PERSONAL OPINION ABOUT THAI PEOPLE
Most of the thai people are hyper friendly ands will go out of the their way to explain a menu or give directions. If you probe further you can discover some cultural quirks like their thai accent .
Thai massage are superb .Your initial shyness at prancing around naked in spas amid strangers will evaporate in about 20 minutes.
Sorry to say the thai taxi drivers are bloody crooks ! They will take you for a good ride over the highway back to your hotel and often ask if you would like to visit a jewelery store for their petrol voucher .

My Shopping Experience in Bangkok !
I never fail to find great buys in my shopping sprees in Bangkok .
I adore Thai handicraft ranging from silver,pottery and portrait painting ,blah blah .What you want you get it in Bangkok .As I have pleasure for electronics geeks I find Panthip Plaza a five storey IT mall overwhelmed .Hugh selection of computer software,Cd's,DVDs and MP3 compilations both legal and illegal stuff for under 200 baht. My inertia for shopping transforms to paranoia as I go from mall to Mah Boon Krong and in search of intriguing finds,and I am usually rewarded . Thus it make sense to splurge in Bangkok .I usually find myself queuing at the many money changers more often than anticipated in Bangkok . One,it is more fun shopping in Bangkok than crowded Singapore . Two, there is a stunning array of quality clothings, locally produced or imported. Three, many malls in Bangkok easily rival Singapore's,each with distinctive offerings of entertainment and lifestyle facilities. Siam Paragon for instance,boasts Bangkok's largest shopping centre in Asia and it is fun not just for kids but also for adults.Take a map from the hotel and then figure out where to go,what to do,what to buy and what to eat.
