Lau Pa Sat Food Centre/Esplanade

On Sunday, April 22, 2007 ,we arrived at Lau Pa Sat Food Centre located in the heart of Singapore's business district- Boon Tat Street around 6pm. parked our car along the Robinson Road .In my opinion, the dining experience wasn't that great !…Hot and Humid and expensive.. Some 20 family members indulged in a meal of about 200 satay , 4 plate of Rojak ,some mee goreng. fried rice and clam .Satay seems to be the anchor meal . The fried rice was horrifying, soggy and think that gave me and my family some “unresolved internal affairs” that we keep wanting to purge the next morning ! Think food not hygienically prepared . The side street of Lau Pa Sat is closed to traffic and transformed into “Satay Street" with more than 10 satay stalls that grill and serve satay in the open air - the old fashioned way. We occupied 5 to 6 tables at stall 13.

To round off the perfect evening, we visited the Esplanade, which is a prime waterfront land at Marina bay. Car park was @ $5.50 per entry .We hired a River Taxi cruise down the Singapore River from the Esplanade. This was memorable. The whole bunch behaved as if they have just arrived in Singapore. From a distance there stood the magnificent Merlion of which we wish we could BBQ the merlion for our supper. Is there such a creature in the world ~ a cross between a mermaid and a lion???
